David Williams’ hilarious novel Billionaire Boy is being brought to life on stage across Australia in 2019.

We recently went along to a show in Sydney and loved it!

Our Review:

Based on the popular book by David Williams, Billionaire Boy is a story about a 12 year old boy named Joe. His Dad is a multi billionaire who invented a new kind of toilet paper. He buys Joe everything he wants … even a lock of Justin Biebers’ hair!

But all Joe wants is a friend and to go to a new school where no one bullies him. After moving to a new school he meets a new friend but there’s also a school bully named Grub. In the end he realises his life is not going to get better unless he faces up to the bully. Also when people start complaining of a “purple bum” after using his minty toilet paper, Joe’s Dad eventually learns you don’t need money to be happy.

Featuring a talented cast of five, Billionaire Boy explores social issues such as bullying, relationships and self-esteem.

There’s toilet humour, singing, dancing and lots of laughs. Running for 60 minutes there was no time for my boys to get bored.

Recommended for children aged 6 – 12 years and their adults.

After the show my 7 year old had so many questions … “Did Grub really wet his pants? Was that real money falling out of the sky? That wasn’t a real fart was it?” He rated the show 9/10.
