With the arrival of Spring comes a touch of dread as far as my sleeping is concerned. Overheating and night sweats become more of a problem, disrupting my sleep patterns. Consequently, I was excited to hear about the unique Elegear cooling blanket and Elegear microfibre sheets. Both designed to keep you cool during the warmer months it sounded like a life changer. Delivered straight to our door via Amazon Australia, I’m eager to give them a try. We’re sharing our honest thoughts on these products. Everything from unboxing, how they fit on our bed, comfort level and how they stand up to washing and drying.
Elegear Microfibre Bedding Sheet Set
Our Initial Thoughts
Upon unboxing we noted the Elegear microfibre sheets arrived nicely packaged in a clear zipped bag. After opening the bag we straight away noticed the lovely double brushed microfibre texture. These Elegear microfibre sheets feel finer, softer and less rigid than cotton sheets. I love the charcoal colour we chose for something different to white. After unfolding the pillowcases they look longer than a standard pillowcase. More about that soon.

Fitting On To Our Mattress And Pillows
We selected the king size Elegear microfibre sheets for a queen size mattress, as our mattress is quite deep. Putting them on our bed the fitted sheet easily fitted over our queen mattress with a little room to spare. There was the right amount of stretch and depth in the corner pockets and along the length of the fitted sheet.
The flat sheet was easily long enough to tuck in under the mattress but not too long. Oddly the pillowslips are too long for our standard pillows. This didn’t really bother me as I feel there was value for money in the sheets alone.

Washing And Drying
Before using we washed the sheets in a gentle cycle on 30 degrees with gentle laundry detergent. We tumble dried on low for approximately 60 minutes. The Elegear microfibre sheets dried without wrinkles or shrinking and didn’t lose their ultra softness. I look forward to seeing how durable they are over time compared with cotton sheets.
Time To Sleep
When first lying on the Elegear microfibre sheets the softness in contrast to cotton sheets takes a bit of getting used to. But after two nights I don’t think I could switch back to cotton. They’re super soft making our bed extra comfortable and difficult to get out of! The best part is I haven’t been overheating or experiencing night sweats while I sleep. These Elegear microfibre sheets are keeping me cool compared with our usual cotton sheets. I’m waking up sweat-free, less dehydrated and more revitalised. It really has been a game-changer for me.
Verdict
We’ve tried many brands of sheets over the years and generally have stuck to cotton sheets. We can recommend giving these Elegear microfibre sheets a try. What we love is the softness and ability to prevent overheating and sweating while sleeping. The price point allows for a trial and Ill be stocking up on more ready for Summer and all year round. I’m not sure I can go back to cotton sheets.

Elegear Cooling Blanket
Our Initial Thoughts
This is my first time hearing about a cooling blanket. This unique Elegear cooling blanket arrived rolled neatly in a small box. Upon opening the packaging there was a slight odour to the blanket however this disappeared after the blanket being unrolled for 24 hours.

I love how thin the blanket is making it very portable despite its large king size. There are noticeably two different sides to the blanket. One side is 100 percent Egyptian Cotton and the other side is a shiner fabric which feels cool to touch. It’s this side of the fabric that is designed to absorb and dissipate heat. The Elegear cooling blanket comes in a variety of colours. I’m very happy with our choice of this soft grey, which is what I expected from the images online.
Fitting On Our Bed
The Elegear cooling blanket comes in a variety of sizes. We’re happy with the king size cooling blanket we chose for our queen sized bed. Once on our bed there is plenty of overhang to tuck.

Time To Try
It’s surprising how I still feel warm in bed with this far less bulky blanket. I initially slept with the cooling blanket combined with cotton sheets. I didn’t overheat through the night and still felt cosy. I’ve also now tried the cooling blanket in combination with the microfibre sheets and together I’m not sweating or overheating whatsoever. I’m looking forward to using the blanket as a throw on the couch during hot days for a cooling effect. I notice there is a throw size designed for this exact purpose.
Washing and Drying
We haven’t washed the cooling blanket yet however the washing instructions suggest gentle washing up to 30 degrees. Do not tumble dry, hang in the shade. Given how thin the blanket is, I imagine it will wash and line dry easily and quickly.
Verdict
This unique and carefully designed Elegear cooling blanket does keep you cool but also cosy while sleeping. It has reduced my night sweats and overheating. We can recommend giving it a try. Combine the Elegear cooling blanket with the Elegear microfibre sheets and hopefully like me you will wake up sweat-free!
