Tesalate Beach Towel Review

By on October 30, 2018

Now that Summer is fast approaching, it’s time to think about those all-important beach essentials. We believe a successful trip to the beach with kids, comes down to which towels you’re using. Recently we came across the sand-free Tesalate beach towel and had to give it a try. A compact, absorbent towel that brings no sand home from the beach sounded too good to be true.

My boys and I recently enjoyed heading to the beach to test out our Tesalate towel, gifted to us in return for a product review. Here’s our honest verdict.

SANDFREE

We’re a family who loves the ocean however bringing home half the beach with us is the one downside for me. Our boys are always standing on our beach towels with sandy feet (Grrrrr) and this day was no exception.

When it was time to leave the beach, our dry Tesalate towel was covered in sand. As we picked it up off the beach the majority of the sand slid off on its own. After a bit of a shake the rest of the sand fell onto the beach.

I would say there was no sand left on the dry towel due to the smooth material the towel is made of (more to come on this below!) We are yet to see if the same would happen with wet sand or a wet Tesalate towel.

SIZE

Our boys are always excited to open a parcel the postie has delivered. I’d told them there was a towel inside. When they opened the parcel to find a small black drawstring bag they were confused. We opened it up to find the Tesalate towel is the same size as a standard beach towel. After using it at the beach, I was able to fold the damp towel back up to easily fit inside our small beach bag.

DESIGN

We chose ‘The Swell’ design. The blue and white is perfect for our male-dominated family to use. The reverse side of the towels all have the cool signature black and white triangle pattern.

ABSORBENT

Our boys easily dried themselves with the one towel and it was not soggy afterwards. When partly wet, the towel is still quite lightweight. It is not until it’s saturated with water after being in the washing machine that it feels heavy.

Our towel wasn’t as quick-drying as we thought it would be. We would say it dried at approximately the same rate as our other beach towels when hung on the clothesline.

FEEL

Made from a special microfibre our boys commented on how soft the towel was. The towel is thicker than I expected and smooth compared with a standard beach towel.

CARE

Due to the lack of sunshine in Sydney we have only used our towel a few times at the beach. As recommended on the label, we washed our towel in the washing machine and hung it on the line to dry. So far (after a few washes) it has not lost its shape or colour. There’s also a little hook to hang your towel to dry when you’re out and about.

OUR VERDICT

We love the style and practicality of the Tesalate beach towel for visiting the beach. These towels are especially great for a family as one towel dries at least a couple of kids and they fold up small to carry home.

Although the towel didn’t dry as quickly as we thought it would, this wouldn’t discourage us from purchasing a Tesalate towel in the future. These towels would make the perfect gift for anyone who loves the beach and/or travelling.
